A lot to like about governor’s budget

Gov. Tom Wolf continues to be a friend of public education with his proposed 2019-20 state budget.

As deliberations on it continue, check for updates at www.psea.org.

The following proposed increases are included in the governor’s budget proposal:

$200 million increase in basic education funding.
$40 million increase in pre-kindergarten and Head Start funding.
$50 million increase in special education funding.
$15 million increase for early intervention.
$10 million increase in career and technical education subsidy.
