Solidarity Dress Down Day!

On Friday, December 20, 2024, wear your local association t-shirt or a PSEA Southwestern Region t-shirt (if permitted by your district).

Take a photo (individual or group) and email it to Michelle at mstonebraker@psea.org. (Please include the names of all participants in the photo.)

2025 Celebrating Excellence call for nominations

Do you know a friend, colleague, or community member or organization who you think deserves special recognition for their contribution to public education? Right now, we’re accepting nominations for the Celebrating Excellence “Adler Friend of Education” and “Human & Civil Rights” Awards.

PSEA's Celebrating Excellence Awards Dinner honors winners of the PSEA Adler Friend of Education Award and the PSEA Human and Civil Rights Awards.

PSEA hosts the dinner each May to provide a special opportunity to recognize individuals, local associations, and organizations going the extra mile for our schools and communities.

The Adler Friend of Education award recognizes an individual who has made significant statewide contributions to public education. Adler Award recipients have included PSEA leaders, public officials, and others whose work has improved public education in Pennsylvania.

The Human and Civil Rights Awards are intended to applaud the outstanding work occurring every day in Pennsylvania's public schools and in our communities.

A selection committee meets each January to review the nominations submitted and select winners in four categories: Student Leader, Educational Leader, Community Leader, and Local Association, along with the Adler Friend of Education Award.

Deadline to submit a nomination is December 31, 2024.

Important ACSHIC Information

The Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium (ACSHIC) renewal has updated for the 2024-2025 Plan Year.

Southwestern Region Spring 2025 House of Delegates

SAVE THE DATE!

The Southwestern Region Spring 2025 House of Delegates Meeting will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025.  This meeting is in-person.  Credentials pick-up will start at 7:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m.  Online registration is required.

  • Region Committee Chairs:  Your reports are due to Michelle Stonebraker (mstonebraker@psea.org) by close of business on Friday, March 7, 2025, for inclusion in the e-book.  If you have no report, kindly send an email to Michelle stating that you have no report to submit.
  • State Committee Chairs:  Your reports, which should include any approved minutes from your November 2024 through March 2025 meetings, are due to Michelle Stonebraker (mstonebraker@psea.org) by close of business on Friday, March 7, 2025, for inclusion in the e-book.

LODGING:  If you need lodging, please select that option when you register online.  The room cost for Friday, March 21, 2025, is $187.59 including taxes. DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTEL FOR LODGING RESERVATIONS.  

If you need to cancel your room, please contact Michelle Stonebraker (724-696-3100) on or before 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, or you will be charged the full room rate of $187.59.  Again, DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTEL.

Local Leader Tools - Local Email Utility

Local Association Presidents:

The Local Email Utility, available to you and your designees, is a useful tool for you to quickly email all your members without the need to create and maintain a separate database of member email addresses.

Your access carried over on September 1 (as long as you remained president).  After September 1, your designees from the prior year were deleted and you need to log in to Local Leader Tools to set up your designee(s) for the current membership year.
