PSEA president comments on Squirrel Hill mass shooting

HARRISBURG (October 29, 2018) – Dolores McCracken, president of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, today issued the following statement related to the mass shooting in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood this weekend.

“Educators across Pennsylvania feel the heartache of the Pennsylvanians who lost loved ones in the horrific shooting in Squirrel Hill this weekend. And we commend the first responders who put their lives on the line.

“When the children we serve walk into school this week, we will greet them with care and compassion, and we will assure them that the educators and support professionals in their schools work closely with parents, law enforcement, and community members to keep them safe every day.

“There is no place for hate anywhere in our society. Educators and support professionals across the state will stand together to send that message - today, tomorrow, and always.”
