HARRISBURG, PA (April 18, 2024) – Pennsylvania State Education Association President Aaron Chapin today announced that the 177,000-member association has recommended state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro in the election for Pennsylvania treasurer.

“PSEA members, the people who teach and care for students in Pennsylvania’s public schools every day, decided to recommend Ryan Bizzarro for state treasurer,” Chapin said. “Those members spoke with Ryan, saw him in action, and decided that Ryan is the right person to lead Pennsylvania’s Treasury Department.

“Ryan Bizzarro believes what PSEA members believe about public education. He shares our values, and we know that he will look out for Pennsylvania’s students, educators, support professionals, and taxpayers.”

Chapin cited Bizzarro’s long-time commitment to public education, including his history of advocacy for public schools, opposition to scholarships for private and religious schools, and support for Pennsylvania’s state and school employee retirement systems.

“PSEA members know how important it is to support pro-public education candidates because they know that the decisions our elected leaders make impact the work that they do in their schools and classrooms,” Chapin said. “That is why I am so proud to announce PSEA’s support for Pennsylvania’s next treasurer – Ryan Bizzarro.”

Chapin is a Stroudsburg Area middle school teacher and president of PSEA. An affiliate of the National Education Association, PSEA represents about 177,000 active and retired educators and school employees, aspiring educators, higher education staff, and health care workers in Pennsylvania.
