UPDATE: student teacher stipend

The Pennsylvania Student Teacher Support Program, administered through PHEAA, provides $10,000 to eligible student teachers to support them during their full-time student teacher experience. Over 3,000 aspiring educators submitted applications for the 2025-26 school year when the application opened on March 6. With such an incredible demand for the program, PSEA is calling for at least $50 million for student teacher stipends in the FY 2025-26 state budget.

“Student teacher stipends are life-changing for the aspiring educators who receive them. Stipends allow student teachers to gas up their cars, pay their rent, and put food on the table, while getting the classroom experience they need to be qualified teachers. They ensure student teachers don’t have to take part-time jobs in the evenings while they are working full-time jobs during the day in our schools.” -PSEA President Aaron Chapin

The student teacher stipend application is open.

If you are student teaching in the 2025-26 school year and have not yet submitted a stipend application, please do so as soon as possible. Do not miss out on this life-changing opportunity to receive $10,000. Visit www.psea.org/stipendqa to view detailed step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth application process.

ICYMI... Student PSEA stars on “PA Newsmakers.”

You can watch the full episode online on the PA Newsmakers website.
