A New Training Opportunity

PSEA is offering a very useful professional development opportunity for a limited number of  members in schools identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.

We hope that you will recommend two of your members who work in CSI schools to participate in this opportunity at PSEA Headquarters in Harrisburg on Feb. 6-8.

What is CARE?

In our ongoing commitment to find resources and provide supports to members for personal and professional success, PSEA recently contracted with the non-profit organization CREATE for Education (Creating Resilience for Educators, Administrators, and Teachers) to offer their CARE training for a limited number of PSEA members working in CSI schools.

How does CARE work?

The CARE training offers instruction in cognitive and emotion skills that help reduce stress by promoting understanding, recognition, and regulation of emotion. It introduces teachers to mindful awareness practices  -  beginning with short periods of silent reflection and extending to role-playing and other exercises that bring mindful awareness to the challenging situations teachers often encounter.

CARE is designed to reduce educator stress and promote improvements in well-being. Check out this flier to learn more about CARE.
