ACE Program

PSEA’s Advocates for Children and Education (ACE) program is a grassroots advocacy effort that empowers members to advocate for schools, students, and education professions.

ACEs receive advanced training on advocacy and lobbying and frequent policy briefings to help them communicate with legislators. They work in teams to make sure legislators understand what’s happening in schools and classrooms – and what educators and support professionals need to help students succeed.

Every June, ACEs visit Harrisburg to lobby their state legislators on the issues that are important to their students and their profession.

Contact ACE Program director Jennifer Statler for information about upcoming trainings for PSEA members who want to join our statewide network of advocates.

“Becoming an ACE is a great way to be a voice for our students and schools. Our jobs are political, and that means we have to be, too” – Melissa Costantino-Poruben, Avonworth EA

“Being an ACE gives me a platform to share my story. I am not “just” a kindergarten teacher. I am supported by PSEA and that allows me to speak up and speak out.” – Andrea Fink, William Penn EA
